Telangana police releases manual for probing trafficking cases

On World Day against Trafficking in Persons, the Telangana Police in collaboration with city-based NGO Prajwala released a manual aimed at training frontline officers and equipping them with necessary skills to combat human trafficking.

Speaking at the event, Director General of Police M Mahender Reddy, who released the training manual titled ‘Victim-Centered Investigations in Trafficking of Persons Related Crimes’, said human trafficking in a civilised society was a heinous crime. Apart from nabbing suspects, ensuring conviction too was the responsibility of police. Trafficking was an organised crime and data analytic tools should be used to pin down racketeers.
