Feel charge is on higher side, seek slash
Even as smart cards for Metro Rail journey being sold like hot cakes in four metro stations on day one, people put it that the fares are on higher side compared to other metros. At some stations the people and children were seen purchasing tickets and shown enthusiasm to board the metro rail on Nov 29. However some elders said that the rates are high compared to RTC bus charges in the city. People and office goers feel that the fares of HMR are high by 200 per cent as against previous plan of fares. They want to slash the existing prices which are put at from Rs 10 minimum to Rs 60 maximum fare.
It may be said here that the metro rail will be left opened for the general public on Nov 29 a day later it was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Metro Rail at Miyapur station on Nov 28 at 2.15 pm. Authorities started selling “Nebula” Smart Cards each for Rs 200 at Nagole, Tarnaka, Prakash Nagar and SR Nagar stations on Sunday. Smart Card worth Rs 200 includes Rs 100 security deposit and Rs 100 for deduction on travel. Valid for one year the smart cards are rechargeable and advantageous to the holders to enter and exit by swiping at starting and destination points.
