Leopard caught in hunter’s snare,

Kamareddy: A leopard was badly injured when it got entangled in a hunter’s snare set up to catch wild boars and deer on the outskirts of Boppaspalli village in Nasrullabad mandal of Kamareddy district.

Hunters, sources said, had laid the trap near Kampala Gandi area of Boppaspalli tanda a few days ago to catch wild boar. But the leopard, lurking in the area, fell a victim with its right jaw caught in the trap. The jaws bones appear broken.

Some shepherds noticed the trapped leopard on Tuesday, but they fled from the spot fearing an attack by it. The leopard has since been in the trap and had weakened considerably. Only on Monday, the locals informed the Kamareddy forest officials, who are now trying to rescue the leopard.
