Expressing serious concern on atrocities on girls and persistent child labour, Nobel Prize Laureate Kailash Sathyarthi has sought to check the maladies and give education to poor. Since education is essential for development we cannot expect it to happen without giving a chance to poor and destitute to educate, besides preventing attacks on girls he stated. Satyarthi addressed a gathering of young entrepreneurs and businessmen at a meeting a prelude to GES 2017 at HICC here conducted jointly by Niti Ayog, T-Hub and ISK.
It is pertinent to note that the state government has made all arrangements for the GES-2017 on Nov 28 at HICC to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. US Government Advisor Ivanka Trump, Telangana Governor ESL Narasimhan and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will address.
Kailash Sathyarthi appealed to the businessmen to partner in development by provide succor to the poor children and deprived classes to become educated. We need to check poverty, illiteracy and stop atrocities to achieve all round development he said. He expressed anger at unabated rape cases and atrocities on girls as two girls being raped in one hour and about 10 girls being disappeared. He said that child labour should come down further and efforts should be made for their education and welfare.
